This blog is for people who are affected by ovarian cancer specifically and cancer generally.
Just after I was diagnosed in November 2008 with ovarian cancer, I received this metallic seahorse in the post anonymously. I was amazed at the magnificence of the colours and even shed a tear that someone could have been so thoughtful at that particular time, to send such a beautiful gift. On checking the meaning of the seahorse, I read that in some mythologies it was a symbol of healing for diseases of the lymph system. As my cancer was also in a few abdominal lymph nodes, the gift was even more special. I tried to think who could have been so insightful as to send such a symbol of hope. Then Samuel phoned asking if I had received his package. In his haste, he had forgotten to include a message with his name attached. Totally unaware of the special significance of the sea horse to my particular cancer, his gift is hung on my bedroom wall, so I see it on waking and when I go to sleep. Now surgically free of abdominal cancer my seahorse is still there a constant reminder of an intuitive friend. Thank you Samuel XX
